King’s Cross, London

We reimagined a poorly designed Kings Cross penthouse, turning it into a modern, open-plan living space. By addressing layout challenges, enhancing natural light, and upgrading outdoor areas, we created a beautiful, functional home with contemporary comforts, all while preserving the unique character of the space.

When we took on the King’s Cross penthouse project, it was clear that the space had a lot of potential, but several significant challenges needed to be addressed before it could truly shine:

  • Poor Layout: The original layout was disjointed and impractical, with no designated living room. The space felt cramped and awkward, with rooms poorly positioned and a lack of flow. One of the rooms even had only a skylight, making it feel more like a storage area than a livabele space.

  • Terrace Heat Issues: The south-facing terrace, while a beautiful feature, became unbearably hot during the summer months. Without proper ventilation or cooling, it was nearly unusable on warmer days. The penthouse lacked air conditioning, which added to the discomfort of the space.

  • Outdated Outdoor Flooring: The terraces were finished with heavy concrete slabs that made the space feel cold and uninviting. These slabs also created drainage issues, as water would pool and not drain away effectively.

  • Limited Natural Light: The existing configuration of walls and partitions blocked natural light from flowing through the apartment, leaving certain areas feeling dark and enclosed. This made the space feel smaller and less welcoming.

  • Aging Infrastructure: The electrical and plumbing systems were outdated, requiring a complete overhaul to bring them up to modern standards. Without rewiring and replacing old systems, the space wouldn’t have been able to accommodate the new design and features we envisioned.

Challenges

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Make it stand out.
